Skóra Marfa is a small leather goods studio based in Marfa, Texas.
Every piece is made in small batches using primarily full-grain and select top-grain vegetable-tanned leathers sourced in the United States. The studio was built around a simple idea: make fewer things, make them well, and let them age honestly.
Before starting Skóra Marfa, I worked in product development. After moving to Marfa, I became more interested in objects that felt slower, more permanent, and more connected to place. What began as a small studio gradually became a collection of leather goods shaped by utility, craftsmanship, and the landscape of West Texas.
The studio remains intentionally small.
Each piece is made with attention to detail using high-quality materials chosen for durability, texture, and character over time. We primarily use full-grain leather, along with select top-grain leathers depending on the product and intended finish. All leathers used by Skóra Marfa are vegetable-tanned and designed to develop a rich patina through use, sunlight, travel, and wear.
Scratches, tonal variation, and marks are considered part of the material — not flaws to be hidden.
Unlike heavily corrected leather, vegetable-tanned leather changes with age and reflects the life of the person carrying it.
Marfa influences the work through restraint, texture, space, and simplicity. The landscape encourages a quieter approach to design — fewer unnecessary details, better materials, and objects made to last.
All pieces are produced in small batches in the Marfa studio using industrial sewing machines and traditional leather working techniques. Production is intentionally limited. The goal is not constant newness. The goal is longevity.
Skóra Marfa is not built around trends or fast production. It is built around process, material honesty, and the belief that well-made objects become more meaningful over time.

Our Leather
Skóra Marfa uses primarily full-grain and select top-grain vegetable-tanned leathers sourced in the United States.
Vegetable-tanned leather develops character over time through use, exposure, and wear. Scratches, tonal shifts, creases, and patina are part of the natural aging process and make each piece unique.
Unlike heavily corrected leather, the surface is not coated to appear artificially uniform. Natural grain variation and markings are intentionally preserved whenever possible.
Some leathers are firm and structured, while others are softer and more flexible depending on the product and intended function.
Because vegetable-tanned leather responds to its environment, each piece will age differently over time.
Our Store and Studio
Skóra Marfa is based in Marfa, Texas, where the store and working studio share the same space.
All pieces are designed and produced on site in small batches using industrial sewing machines and traditional leather working techniques. Visitors can often see work in progress — leather being cut, stitched, edged, or finished throughout the day.
The space functions as both a retail store and an active workshop, reflecting the slower and more hands-on nature of the brand.
Rather than separating production from the customer experience, Skóra Marfa keeps the process visible.
The studio is open five days a week in the heart of Marfa.
